Radiation Oncology Center

KazIOR

The Radiation Oncology Center is a modern specialized unit focused on the diagnosis and treatment of cancer using advanced radiation therapy methods. The primary goal of the center is to provide patients with highly effective, safe, and personalized treatment in accordance with international quality standards.
The center's activities cover the full cycle of medical care—from the initial consultation and diagnosis to the provision of high-tech treatment and subsequent follow-up. Patients are able to complete the entire treatment pathway in one place, making the process both comfortable and efficient.
The diagnostic department is equipped with modern imaging and laboratory technologies. The center actively utilizes computed tomography (CT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), positron emission tomography combined with CT (PET/CT), as well as ultrasound and X-ray methods. These tools allow for precise determination of the tumor’s location, size, structure, and interaction with surrounding tissues. A comprehensive diagnostic approach enables physicians to obtain a complete understanding of the patient’s condition and choose the most appropriate treatment strategy.

The primary focus of the center is the delivery of radiation therapy. Modern equipment, including next-generation linear accelerators, enables highly precise irradiation of tumors while minimizing exposure to healthy tissues and organs. The center offers a wide range of techniques, including three-dimensional conformal radiation therapy (3D-CRT), intensity-modulated radiation therapy (IMRT), image-guided radiation therapy (IGRT), as well as stereotactic radiosurgery and stereotactic body radiation therapy (SRS/SBRT). These technologies make it possible to treat tumors of complex shapes and those located in hard-to-reach anatomical areas.
Special attention is given to the implementation of an innovative approach—Adaptive Radiation Therapy (Adaptive RT). This method involves dynamically modifying the treatment plan based on anatomical changes in the patient or changes in tumor characteristics during the course of therapy. This is particularly important when treating tumors prone to changes in size or position, as well as in patients who experience weight fluctuations. Adaptive radiation therapy improves the accuracy of irradiation, increases treatment effectiveness, and reduces the risk of complications.
A key element of the center’s work is a multidisciplinary approach. Radiation oncologists, medical physicists, radiologists, chemotherapists, and surgeons collaborate closely to ensure comprehensive and balanced patient care. This approach aligns with global standards of oncology care and significantly improves patient prognosis and quality of life.
